Stupid loop thing better work else I'll just delete it again to save myself from looking like an idiot, despite already being one.

Oh, excellent. It is working.

To cut a long story short, this is my half of an almost-2-years overdue trade finally finished in 2008 which will also double as my Christmas and New Years present (as well as an early September birthday) for a good friend, EdMed.

And you thought I'd forgotten about it. Shame on you.

Despite being only 3 seconds long, this thing took a hell of a long time to finish. It has reached over 100MB in size a couple of times and has made my computer fartable and most irritable. Each frame was individually drawn, coloured and shaded in Photoshop and compiled together as an animation in Imageready. Flash was used most unlovingly to save the stupid file.

Apologies to the exceedingly poor video quality. I don't know how to make it more presentable as a Flash file (the .mov file looks grand). I hope the quality is not too distracting.

That is too cute! The movement of Luckie is so flowy and real. <3

The clouds are pretty... but they're movement is a little odd. That's okay!
Lovely work!

...She's so...CUTE.

*dies*
Splat you own nonexistent my soul. Holy crap.
*sits in front of the computer, completely enchanted by Luckie's floating.*
....S-s-she's so...floppy.
I LOVE IT.
I-I...she...needs...to be picked up. She's squishy. Dangling. And floppy. And really cute.
*death by cute*

Explicable timing too. I've been having a really bad week/day so I'm just going to sit in front of the screen now and look at this now. Luckie does have that unexplainable ability to make everything better. And you animated her too.

The animation is amazing. The motion and animation is fluid beyond all reason. Her tail, her wings, the movement of her dangling body, floppy ears, hair motion, eye blinking...its all in que, properly timed and aligned. Impressive as hell, its not easy at all to keep track of so many individual features. Individually drawn, colored and shaded frames is really bloody intense. But the effort and energy you invested into it really shows through with all the detailed motions and swings of the body and features.
I mean, the even the fur on her neck tips up and down. I really admire your diligence and patience, Splat. Incredible work. [I am not worthy.]

I love the movement of those wings. Not only in that the motion extremely believable but it also gives off a sense of weight and reaction against art friction when the wings are brought down. The technique you used worked out extremely well. There also seems to be lightness to her wings. The soft feathers and the structure of the wings probably helps create that image. I really enjoy how you structured her wings. I love your take on wing anatomy.

Your style in general just works. It's very uniquely Splat style and I love that. Luckie is adorable as hell. You captured her personality and image perfectly. Her composure and carefree way of floating around just fits her character. She's just floating there, dangling and swinging her legs around. She's so damn cute, I don't know what to do. It definitely makes me smile a lot. THAT FACE. And that way she's looking at you. And her not-so-little ears flopping around. And her pudgy little arms and tiny feet.
:D
Haha, I love how fluffy her neck mane is. It kind of reminds me of marshmallows.

...she is really, really, really, cute.

I already mentioned this to you before, but I greatly enjoy your "simplicity" when it comes to line work. Clean lines and textured fur only where it counts. It allows the animation to run smoothly and adds for that professional feel.
And of course your cell shading. The consistency in general is really impressive. [How you do that, I have no idea. I'm horrible with style consistency.] But the fact that you got all the shadows to work in line too is...quite amazing? I can't begin to imagine how much time you put into this.

I also like how you arranged the colors. I like the soft, light colors. It fits well and works a lot better than harsher/'brighter' colors would have. I like the tone and atmosphere you came up with. And you paint clouds really well and even went out of your way to move them around for the background. This is....really extensive.

THIS IS AN AMAZING TRADE/CHRISTMAS/NEWYEAR/EARLYBIRTHDAY PRESENT.
THANK YOU, SPLATTY.
Your animations own. It's not fair I keep getting them. [undeserving.]

I love it. You're amazing. This is amazing.
*sits around and stares*

this is such a beautiful piece of animation... though short- it is so luxurious and flowing... I can't take my eyes off it :D

It really stands out compared to all the other animations ive seen lately. I really hope you do more like this :D
:iconzyrena-k:
Oh.. I love that animation!
:iconsrtaquesadilla:
haha, that's cute. Colors are my favorite thing about it. <3
:iconscarletwhite:
amazing, and so cute
:iconsouku:
Thanks.
No, not Flash, Imageready and Photoshop. I have no idea how to use Flash and I also don't like Flash's lines. They're a bit too solid for me and they don't make for smooth frame-by-frame animation when it's solely lineart.
