" [...] The most malicious tribes however, dwell in the underworld known as Netherrania.."
Oh wow, Splatty. This piece...is gorgeous. I just love the concept and how you constructed it. I think you've managed to convey your message quite well, which is not a easy feat at all. I love the composition from how the gradient in the sky changes to two figure on the ground. For one, I love the connection between the gryphon and the "jewel in the sky". Your choice of color of the connection, it's brightness and intensity really help convey the message of the piece. It is very strong, intense. I really like how it works. The colors, the lines and the little swirls are so nice. The placement and construction of the clouds are nice, too. I love the mood they bring into the piece and how they seem to "drift away" and open a passage for the gryphon's path. The placement of the clouds and their shape also adds perspective and space. I love how they're almost "curved". It really helps create that spherical globe which shelter these little spherical planets we take as our residence. I like the perspective quite a lot. The skyline is nicely done, the brisk light is inspiring and uplifting along with the subtle use of brighter hues and colors. The lit field, brighter yet passive colors seem almost peaceful and quiet, but also a bit sad due to it's barren nature. The little figures and their long shadows seem to convey loneliness which adds for that melancholy feel to the piece.
I'm going to avert my attention back to the top of the piece, where I've forgotten to mention. The very top of the piece, the sky and the stars. What I really like about this one is that it seems to hold almost 3 worlds, sections, if you wish. The topmost section, the dark space and stars remind me of outer space, what lies beyond our little world. As we shift downwards into the more lighter blues, we've got the gryphon and the sky and at the very bottom, the "Earth" or planet, if you will. The ground, the transition between the planet and space, the "sky" and then space itself. I think that's what captured my attention while I was looking at this piece. I suppose I just spend too much time staring at the sky too much and something about this just connected to my observations. A clear evening, nighttime, the spherical dimension that is conveyed when you look up at the late evening sky. I really like it. You did a nice job on this piece. Lovely, lovely. I adore how you work with your scenery and the actual effort you put into them to make them work. I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with commenting much, recently. Mrrr, hopefully I'm not just being insomniactic and rambling on and on about symbolic nonsense as I tend to. Tsktsk, Kaikai. x: Badbad. Too much literature for you!
THANKYOUKAIKAI! Thanks for your awesomeness comment.
-pats- Alas, I have nothing more to say except...
WHEEEEEEEKAIKAIKAIKAIKAICOMMENT! xD -dies- I loved reading your comment. It's good you grasped lots of meanings in it. I got the concept while I was thinking of an animation that would have been awesome to do (but I'm too lazy haha.. sadly). It got inspired by a song.. but what song now, I've gone and forgotten. x: Anyways. You know that your comments are always appreciated. How could Splat not?
